invisible walls of solitary confinement
dissolving our soul’s purest refinement
some of these restraints were purposely constructed
others created in our own mind ever-growing destructive
its time to take what isn’t beneficial or working
to use the ideas in our imagination still lurking
and create what has never been done before
taking graceful defiance to settle the score
we will not make replicas of what is broken and without soul
we will forge new beginnings from the lessons and wisdom of old
this turning point is the survival of our humanity
a pivot that can forever change our trajectory
but this must first come from a decision to do different
something profound and quite deliberate
because more of the same can no longer be our mandate
only pursuit of creating what is real will be what liberates
